Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Corrosion Systems Analyst to join our team at SURFMEPP in Portsmouth, VA.
Job Summary:
The Surface Maintenance Engineering, Planning, Program (SURFMEPP) maintains, monitors, and refines Class-wide and Individual-Ship Maintenance Plans for all non-nuclear surface ships to ensure material readiness for the projected service life, develop life-cycle strategies to address system upgrades, and fully implement the Class Maintenance Plan into each surface ship's maintenance schedule and availability planning process. SURFMEPP is headquartered at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth, VA.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Apply practical engineering and analytical judgment while tracking corrosion work reported by assessment activities to support the maintenance planning process
Under senior supervision, conduct engineering efforts to develop and maintain Class Standard Work Templates for tanks, voids, and ship structures
Develop various SURFMEPP corrosion control processes and products, ensure alignment with higher-level guidance as directed by the Government; use these products to provide recommendations for CMP and other SURFMEPP product improvement initiatives.
Develop and present findings, reports or recommendations to analysts, employees, managers inside or outside of the organization, agency heads or other high-ranking officials using Microsoft products used by SURFMEPP
Obtain coating and structural knowledge necessary to participate in related Communities of Practice and Knowledge Sharing Networks, as well as review and QA condition data as reported during assessment events
Harvest and analyze data from various Navy ship maintenance databases
Demonstrates ability to follow direction and work within a team.
Presenting recommendations to management and other stakeholders
Performing data validation and quality control checks to show adherence to requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
1+ years of related professional experience in: Ship repair, Coating & Painting, or Corrosion
Have an understanding of the government maintenance team and private shipyard organizations, as they relate to condition assessment and depot level maintenance execution
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (SharePoint, Power Point, Excel, Word, etc.)
Moderate ship knowledge
Potential for limited travel to support off-site meetings
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Navy Maintenance databases a plus, especially: Corrosion Control Information Management System (CCIMS); Maintenance Figure of Merit (MFOM) applications Navy Maintenance Database (NMD) and Validate, Screen and Broker (VSB)
Good customer relations and interaction skills
NACE Shipboard Corrosion Assessment Training Technician Certification (S-CAT) certification
Database Management
Research and data analysis skills to identify trends and relevant issues
Clearance Requirements:
Must have a current and active Secret Security Clearance
Physical Requirements:
The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
