ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented AWS Data Engineer to join our team. This is a fully Remote position.

You will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining data infrastructure and solutions within Amazon Web Services (AWS). You will work with large-scale data sets, build data pipelines, and ensure that our data systems are optimized for performance, scalability, and reliability.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes in AWS to integrate data from various sources.

  • Work with AWS data services such as S3, Redshift, RDS, Glue, Lambda, and others to store, manage, and analyze data.

  • Ensure data pipelines are optimized for performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

  • Automate data workflows using AWS services and infrastructure-as-code tools like OpenTofu or Terraform.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data pipelines, databases, and data performance.

  • Implement data security best practices in line with AWS standards and compliance requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or other related STEM discipline is preferred; an additional 4 years of experience can be substituted in lieu of a degree

  • 4+ years of relevant data engineer experience

  • Possess a current entry-level certification from a Cloud Service Provider (AWS CCP, Microsoft AZ-900)

  • DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification (ex. Security+ CE).

  • Hands-on experience with AWS data services like S3, Redshift, Glue, Lambda, Athena, RDS, ETL processes and big data tools (Apache Spark, Hadoop, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient in SQL and Python, and comfortable with other programming languages

  • Experience working with AWS infrastructure and services such as EC2, IAM, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, and S3

  • Knowledge of data processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Apache Kafka) is a plus

  • Strong preference given to candidates that possess expertise working with Oracle databases

  • AWS Solutions Architect and/or AWS Data Engineer certifications highly desired

Clearance Requirement:

  • US Citizenship required and active Secret clearance

Physical Requirements:

  • The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.


The projected compensation range for this position is $92,900.00-$154,100.00.
