ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented AWS Data Engineer to join our team. This is a fully Remote position.
You will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining data infrastructure and solutions within Amazon Web Services (AWS). You will work with large-scale data sets, build data pipelines, and ensure that our data systems are optimized for performance, scalability, and reliability.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes in AWS to integrate data from various sources.
Work with AWS data services such as S3, Redshift, RDS, Glue, Lambda, and others to store, manage, and analyze data.
Ensure data pipelines are optimized for performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
Automate data workflows using AWS services and infrastructure-as-code tools like OpenTofu or Terraform.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data pipelines, databases, and data performance.
Implement data security best practices in line with AWS standards and compliance requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or other related STEM discipline is preferred; an additional 4 years of experience can be substituted in lieu of a degree
4+ years of relevant data engineer experience
Possess a current entry-level certification from a Cloud Service Provider (AWS CCP, Microsoft AZ-900)
DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification (ex. Security+ CE).
Hands-on experience with AWS data services like S3, Redshift, Glue, Lambda, Athena, RDS, ETL processes and big data tools (Apache Spark, Hadoop, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficient in SQL and Python, and comfortable with other programming languages
Experience working with AWS infrastructure and services such as EC2, IAM, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, and S3
Knowledge of data processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Apache Kafka) is a plus
Strong preference given to candidates that possess expertise working with Oracle databases
AWS Solutions Architect and/or AWS Data Engineer certifications highly desired
Clearance Requirement:
US Citizenship required and active Secret clearance
Physical Requirements:
The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
